Welding Rods

Twenty-one national manufacturers of welding products have been sued in a class action alleging that welding rods create harmful fumes that can lead to injuries such as Manganism and Parkinson's disease.

When welding rods are used to weld together two pieces of metal fumes are created. Manganese is an element found in these fumes in toxic levels. Exposure to Manganese can damage the central nervous system and cause neurological problems such as Parkinson's disease and Manganism.
