Einhorn Verdict - Attorneys James E. Beasley and James J. McHugh, Jr., representing the estate of Holly Maddux, obtained a jury verdict against Ira Einhorn for $907 million dollars. Ira Einhorn achieved notoriety for fleeing the country after the 1977 slaying of Ms. Maddux. The Maddux family filed a wrongful death suit shortly after Einhorn—who was convicted in absentia—was located in France and extradited to America in 1999. The verdict, the highest verdict in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, included $155 million in compensatory damages and $752 million in punitive damages.
