Lopez McHugh lawyers implement volunteer program to teach civics and serve as role models in Philadelphia public high schools
Jenimae Almquist of Lopez McHugh is co-chair of the Advancing Civics Education “ACE” program. Lopez McHugh helps raise money for local cancer charity Relay For Life of Philadelphia.
Relay For Life is a series of American Cancer Society events, raising funds for cancer research, advocacy, education, and programs for all types of cancer patients. For the second consecutive year, Relay For Life Philadelphia was held at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies. So far this year, Relay For Life of Philadelphia has raised over $45,000.00 for cancer research and will continue to raise funds through August 2009.
Lopez McHugh was a sponsor of the event and formed the team “Lopez McHugh – Jammin’ For the Cure,” with the firm represented by Carrie Capouellez and Shantel Williams. Another team, “We Rock the Cure,” was captained by the firm’s very own Martha Bormann (Event Chair), and Martha Bormann Sr. was interviewed on Philadelphia talk show The Ten Show, CLICK here to watch the video!
Lopez McHugh sponsors championship soccer team
On July 1, 2009, the Lopez McHugh Football Club won the Division 2 championship for the Newport Beach Coed Soccer League. The league has four divisions with a total of 45 teams. Winning the Division 2 championship gives the Lopez McHugh Football Club the option of joining Division 1, the League’s top division, for the Fall 2009 season.
