Christina Anne Fountain

Partner, Christina Anne Fountain, graduated cum laude from the University of California at Santa Barbara, in 1979, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy.  Ms. Fountain earned her Juris Doctor (J.D.), with cum laude Honors, from Boston College Law School in 1983.  She was a staff writer for Boston College Law School’s “Third World Law Journal” from 1981-1982, and was Executive Editor of the Law Journal from 1982-1983.

 

Ms. Fountain was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1983 and is licensed to practice before all courts of the State of California.  She is also admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court; the United States District Court for the Northern District of California; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California; the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California; the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California; the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

 

Ms. Fountain is a member of the State Bar of California; the American Bar Association (ABA) and its Tort and Insurance Practice Section; the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA);   The Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA); the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC); and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals Association.  During her early years of practice in Santa Barbara, California, Ms. Fountain was a two-year  member of the Board of Directors for the Santa Barbara County Bar Association, and was Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors for the Barristers Club of Santa Barbara.

 

Ms. Fountain currently serves on the Electronic Discovery Litigation Group with the American Association for Justice.  She also serves on the Law and Briefing Committee for the Nationwide PremPro Hormone Replacement Therapy Multi-District Litigation, currently in Federal Court in Little Rock, Arkansas.

 

Ms. Fountain is a Brief Judge for the American Bar Association’s Annual National Appellate Advocacy Competition.

 

In 2001, Ms. Fountain served as lead counsel in California for the nationwide litigation project against National Medical Enterprises (NME) on behalf of young adults and children alleged to have been wrongfully admitted to NME’s psychiatric facilities.  Ms. Fountain has successfully litigated wage and hour cases on behalf of employees and currently focuses her practice in the all areas of Employment Law, including  wage and hour cases, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination.  She also practices in the areas of Products Liability, general personal liability, and medical malpractice.

 

Ms. Fountain manages the firm's Appellate, Legal Research, and Law and Motion Department. Over the last several years, Ms. Fountain has successfully argued many complex legal and procedural challenges at the trial, appellate, and Supreme Court levels, which have ultimately led to favorable results for the firm's clients.
